Ethiopian apparels manufacturer enters Kenyan market

Kenya’s sporting scene is set for a colourful revolution after the entry of iconic Ethiopian apparels manufacturer Gofere Sportswear.

The popular brand has partnered with an equally effervescent Kenyan firm Salient Sports Management for a comprehensive kitting collaboration that will afford Kenyan clubs and federations quality apparels.

Along with its affordable but high-quality apparels, Gofere will also offer technical sponsorships to clubs and federations that enter into her hallowed client list.

Gofere, powered by Salient Sports management will provide playing kits for football, rugby, basketball, volleyball and any other sport on very short notice.

The company’s founder and Chief Executive Officer Samuel Mekonnen expressed great confidence in Salient Sports acting as their representative in Kenya. “Salient Sports Management has the authority to set up a marketing and logistical plan for this brand in Kenya,” he said

With their vast production plant domiciled in Africa’s manufacturing capital, Addis Ababa, Gofere is able to supply bulk purchase of playing kits as well as replicas for sale to fans.

The company has already penned deals with fifteen out of the sixteen Ethiopian top-flight clubs as well as the Ethiopian national teams. Gofere is also kitting the women national teams, clubs in the second tier as well as youth teams.

“So many Kenyan clubs and federations have done their best to run sports the right way but have invariably been let down by kitting. Gofere Sportswear and Salient Sports Management are here to right the many wrongs that have occurred in local sporting scenes,” Salient Sports Managing Director Ms. Sally Bolo offered

Beyond Ethiopian borders, Gofere is kitting South Sudanese giants Malakia and Munuki fc. In Uganda, Gaddafi Modern fc, UPDF, and BUL are happily donning the Gofere brand while the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations have inked a deal with Gofere to supply kits.

Over and above the playing jerseys, Gofere provides quality socks, bags, gym workout shirts, bibs, tracksuits, running clothes, casual wear, sports jackets, tights, captains’ arm bands, balls, raincoats, umbrellas and other sportswear.
